Food really seems to bore me during lunchtime. I’m not too fond of sandwiches unless I make them fancy with lettuce, tomato, onions and all that other jazz. You know, something like Subway. That’s why I tend to lean towards going out to eat for lunch. I’m lazy? My husband said he doesn’t want Ryan to think that all of our meals come from a drive-thru window or a restaurant! How dare him! But unfortunately, so true.
My other thought is that I know going out to eat isn’t healthy and I really would like to lose about 10 pounds. I don’t want to feel all fat and flabby during swimsuit season! I tend to do it out of convenience and the fact I just want to get out of the house and go somewhere. This feeling has also led me to go to Starbucks or McDonald’s for a coffee drink in the afternoon. Even when I’m not that hungry.
So back to my question. What’s for lunch? Please share your lunchtime secrets with me. The good, the bad, and the ugly!

I’ve been doing the Fresco Menu from Taco Bell. It’s pretty good still and apparently has fewer calories than the normal menu. Anyway, I’m not skinnier yet but at least I’m not fatter either.

I know I would miss having my sour cream! No fun!

I have the same problem…guess thats why we are BFF!! If I make something fancy for lunch and take the time like I do for dinner I am happy with the results. Not sure that you want to do that twice a day though.

True. I’m also not much of a leftover kind of gal. Maybe I’m just making it harder than it really is! Ha, ha!

I do lots of salads – it sucks making them but if I make a big batch at the beginning of the week and then add tuna or salmon each day it makes it easier. It’s healthy and it will help with the weight loss. That or a good shake with flax, coconut milk, oatmeal, almond milk, berries, and anything else you want to throw in there. They are quick, taste good and the kids love them!

@clovertaco – my wife’s one flaw is her distaste for anything seafood. Still, your idea of making a big batch all in one go is a good one. Could substitute chicken or whatever, obviously, to make a convenient, quick meal. Thanks!
